Ok, so why is that important and what makes Brew Glitter® so different than other edible dusts & glitters out there?
The first thing to know is that Brew Glitter® is not your typical edible “luster dust, petal dust, disco dust or dazzler dust” which you can buy at any craft store or hobby store like Bakell® , JoAnnes or Michaels® or any other decorating supplies store. The problem is, luster dusts & other edible dusts and glitters are made for food & confectionery items first, using it to stir into beverages or drinks is an after thought. In other words, luster dusts & petal dusts are not designed or manufactured to go in beverages, so although it kind of works, it really doesn't.
So why is this important to know?
It is important to know because Brew Glitter® is made specifically to go into drinks, beverages, beer, cocktails and so on! The Brew Glitter® team is so specific about the application of the product that they take the product through a much different manufacturing process then other edible glitters to specifically to allow the edible glitter to be able to suspend and swirl in a drink for a much longer period of time than a typical luster dust, which will either float to the top or sink after 15-20 seconds or so. So although Brew Glitter® has similar characteristics to other edible glitters & dusts out on the market place like luster dusts, the fact is, Brew Glitter® dusts & glitters could not be more different.

Brew Glitter® is FAR more “pearlescent” than even the shiniest luster dusts out there AND the particle size of the individual grains are larger then luster dusts or other edible dusts to allow for maximum reflection of light, but still small enough to be texture-less. The melting point of our edible Dusts & Glitters is approx. 1300°C according to one of our third party labs. However, the melting point for the colored pigments will vary from one colorant to the next, this melting point approximation is meant only for our MICA PEARLESCENT additive.

All of our edible food-grade dusts & glitters contain various mica powder pigments and go through a specific manufacturing process allowing the mineral to be edible & consumable. Ingredients found in our edible glitter & dust brands include dextrose, rice starch and color additives specifically approved for food use, including mica-based pearlescent pigments and FD&C colors such as FD&C Blue No. 1. This is one of those instances where looks can be deceiving. Each and every jar of our dust and/or glitter is filled by weight as opposed to volume. Whereas our product is manufactured using various amounts of edible pigments, the lighter colors such as white and clear are packed tighter than some of the deeper colors such as Gold and Red so while it may appear to the human eye that certain jars contain less product, in reality, the weight is exactly the same in every jar. Simply put. some powders are more fluffy than others but rest assured, you're still getting the same amount of product.

What's the Difference Between Brew Glitter® and Brew Dust®?
The big difference between Brew Glitter® colored glitters and Brew Dust® colored dusts is exactly that, one is a glitter and one is a dust. Brew Dust® is designed intentionally to be a more subtle alternative in both "shimmer" & "glitter" effect than our Brew Glitter® colored beverage glitters. Additionally, the particles in Brew Dust® are even smaller then Brew Glitter® creating a cloudy-dust effect in the beverage. So if you want your drink to really pop, glitter & shimmer then we recommend to purchasing Brew Glitter® colored glitters, if you want a subtle hint of shimmer and more of a food coloring additive... go with the Brew Dust®!
